Meet the Subject Matter Expert

Lauren Klapper

Lauren is the Director of Training and Partner Support at The Voter Network, a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to creating a culture of informed, enthusiastic Kansas voters. In her current role, she champions the work of community organizers and supports organizations’ use of tech tools to amplify their civic engagement work with historically disenfranchised communities. Before joining The Voter Network team, Lauren was a community organizer at Planned Parenthood Great Plains and played an integral role in defeating the 2022 anti-abortion constitutional amendment in Kansas. After graduating from the University of Kansas, she started her career as a community health worker assisting Jackson County, MO, residents access food, housing, and utility assistance during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lauren lives in her hometown of Kansas City, KS, and is deeply committed to making her community and state more healthy, equitable and sustainable.
